Recycling at TTUHSC El Paso: Home

Welcome

In an effort to preserve our planet for generations that follow, we at TTUHSC El Paso must take recycling seriously and all do our part. TTUHSC El Paso recycles cardboard, paper, plastic, aluminum, used light bulbs, charcoal filters used in the labs, batteries and toner cartridges.

Want to recycle? It's easy to find recycling bins for plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and paper around campus. Continue reading this guide to find more information on how to recycle other materials. Thank you for recycling!

Use the Go Green Recycle Bins

While you are in campus, ALWAYS look for the Go Green recycle bins.
Remember:
• DON’T place trash that is not recyclable in the recycling bins.
Rinse/remove drink and food residue from recyclables before placing in the bins.

Where Can I Recycle My Used Batteries?

  1. First, place scotch tape over BOTH ends of your used/dead batteries. It is extremely important to tape both ends to block the contact points so they do not heat up.
  2. Bring your taped batteries to the AEC Library.
  3. Look for Carla Solórzano, she will drop the batteries in a special box to send them for recycling. If Carla is not there, you can also leave them with the person in the front desk.

IMPORTANT:
We do not accept damaged, defective or recalled batteries.
