Diversity and Inclusion: E-Books

Cultural Competency

These books are representative of the E-book contents in Koha. They give readers an opportunity to understand the life experiences of persons of other races/ethnicities, cultures, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic level, ages, abilities and disabilities. A healthcare workforce which learns from the experiences of people of other cultures and from the knowledge of those who represent the communities they serve will be better equipped to render the best possible care to all. Cultural competency means health providers who can understand the social and personal needs and lives of their patients, and who will have patients who can better participate and communicate in medical decision-making with their doctors.
