A guide on how to sign up for UpToDate

 UpToDate is an evidence-based, physician-authored clinical decision support resource which clinicians trust to make the right point-of-care decisions. 

UpToDate clinical decision support is as close as your smartphone, tablet, or computer. 

UpToDate Mobile App for your IOS, Android, or Windows devices. 

Signing Up as a Texas Tech Health El Paso Patron

All TTUHSC El Paso residents, students, faculty and staff have access through the library, please follow these steps in order to create your account.

  • Login to a TTUHSC El Paso computer or the HSC-Air wi-fi.
  • Go to the library's website, https://elpaso-ttuhsc.libguides.com/home2.
  • Click on the "Databases A-Z" button on the left-hand side.
  • Find and select "UpToDate" under "Frequently Used Databases".
  • Once you are on the UpToDate website, click on "Register" in the top-right corner under "Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso" (if the top bar does not say our institution then reconnect to HSC-Air or use a university computer before retrying.)
  • Fill in the online form (you must register using your TTUHSC e-mail) and select "Send Verification Code".
  • Then follow the emailed instructions to verify your new account.

Do You Already Have an UpToDate Account?

You may already have an UpToDate username and password through another organization or individual subscription.

  • Visit UpToDate with a TTUHSC computer: www.uptodate.com
  • Log in with your UpToDate user name and password from within your organization’s network.
  • This will merge your account automatically and you will retain all of your current CME/CE/CPD records.

Download the Mobile App

Once registered you can install the UpToDate Mobile App on up two devices.

  • On your smartphone or tablet, search for "UpToDate" in your app store and install the free app.
  • Open the UpToDate Mobile App upon completion of download.
  • Log in with your UpToDate username and password. You only need to do this once - the app remembers your username and password. 

The UpToDate Mobile App Offers:

  • Voice Search: Use your voice to conduct a search
  • Persistent Login: Log in once — the App saves your credentials
  • CME/CE/CPD: Earn and redeem credits anytime, anywhere
  • Drug Interactions: Analyze drug-drug, herb-drug, and herb-herb interactions
  • Bookmarks and Search History: Easily locate previously viewed topics

 

How to Keep Your Account Active

All TTUHSC patrons who have an active UpToDate account must re-activate it every 90 days. If you find that you are no longer able to log onto your app, try reactivating your account:

  • Login to a TTUHSC EP desktop computer OR connect to the HSC-Air wi-fi

  • Login to your UpToDate account in order to reactivate your account.

  • Repeat this process every 90 days.
