Reserve Collection Policy

El Paso TTUHSC Libraries placed in Reserve a collection of items that includes books, DVDs, CDs, and other materials. The purpose of this collection is to provide up-to-date, convenient, and efficient access to high demand materials. They are limited circulation and/or must be used in the library only. They may be checked out for a short period of time (e.g. two (2) days, one or two weeks). This decision is left to the discretion of the library, ensuring that all patrons have the opportunity to use the materials. The reserve materials are available during regular library hours.

Borrowing Reserve Materials:

  • Checked out reserve items:
    • TTUHSC affiliated users - with ID/E-raiders account
    • Non - TTUHSC affiliated users - Library use only
  • Items may be checked out at any time during the day
  • Reserve items may be renewed if there is no hold on the item.

Check out Period

Due Date

Two days

due two (2) work days after the check-out day

One week

due seven (7) work days after the check-out day.

Two weeks

due fourteen (14) work days after the check-out day.

Library use only

not allowed for check out, can only be used within the Library

Reserve Items Fines and Fees:

  • Fines for overdue reserve materials are:
    • Overdue reserve collection items accrue fines at $0.50 per hour for each item.
    • For lost items, the borrower is responsible for the replacement cost of the item plus a $25.00 processing fee and all accrued overdue fines.
  • Borrowing privileges are suspended for overdue items and unpaid fines.

GoldRush is the TTUHSC El Paso library catalog of online journal subscriptions. 
GoldRush knows about Publishers, Journal Titles, Years, Months, Volumes, Issues and Page Numbers. GoldRush does not know about article titles, keywords, concepts or topics.
